War Dragons
What It Takes for a Strong Base
I love War Dragon's Log in help “wood is used to build and food is used to feed dragons”. However this doesn't really say what it takes to build a strong base or breed strong dragons. A couple key points:
1. The defense number doesn't always tell the whole story or correct story.
2. No kingdom will protect against all dragons.
3. Short or Long there are benefits of both.
4. Plan now and for the future.
5. You will need to build between Fortification Frenzy but Do not Breed between events.

The Short BaseThe short base is all about having towers with high enough levels to deal significant damage in a short period of time. Additionally, short kingdoms prevent players from building up rage to lay down powerful spells, through up shields, or heal marks.
The art of the Small Kingdom. If you are going to go for a short base, you should keep your base to the first and second island If you are below level 70. Anything more than this and you are verging on a long base. With this tactic you will want to front load. Over level 70 you add the third Island, this gives you six structures including the perch which can enhance other structures, add de-buffs and super shot damage if you have the right dragon on the perch. Now you will want A red and white Mage tower, then pick two attack towers (archers, canons, Fire or ice Turrets) then then add a flak or storm depending on what attack tower you chose. This combination with the correct runes and glyphs, should bring down a dragon's shield, stun him so the turrets can damage him and stop him from gaining rage. This is the goal of the first island on a short base. Next, each tower or building on this island needs to be your strongest items. Your huts can be a great tool, level them as high as you can. If all else fails a damaged dragon may not be able to bring them down, so on war runs will make it so the player cannot get five flames. It also makes it take longer to bring down your base during pvp events. Now you also need to consider what to put on the base. Items like electric prongs and turrets (fire and Ice) have a long range. Where as Canons, archer towers are mid range; flak canons have a short range. Blue Mage towers also have a long range, where Red Mage towers will shield a small area. Runes and GLyphsRemember Runes and Glyphs are two separate items.
Each monument has two Rune spots and four glyph spots. You will get a ton of Common and Epic runes, Rare, ledgendary and mythic runes are harder to come by so apply wisely. Additionally, you can currently remove runes and Glyphs (from towers only) for rubies. I don't bother spending rubies on common but will on Mythic and Legendary. Rune dust can be used to upgrade both runes and glyphs. One tactic Somatron and I use is to put on a common see how much the common increase the defense. Once we are satisfied with the increase change to common out for a high type of rune or glyph. come back for more tips and tricks |
The Long BaseEven disbursement or front loaded, are the two options for long bases. With Front loaded you can create the short island benefit of dealing significant damage up front. If they only have one strong dragon they won't be able to get through this style base. Now with the even disbursement, you are dealing damage along the way hoping it enough to take down multiple dragons and stop rage generations.
